The best way to find out what you do best is to do it. Swing a bat. Pitch a tent. Build a pinewood derby® car. Cub Scouts are at that magical age where everything is new and possible and most important, fun. They live in a world of “firsts” — first home run, first campfire, first checkered flag — where their game plan is their imagination.

Their most valuable reward, the friends they make for life and a parent’s proud smile. These are invaluable experiences that can be had in Scouting. These are life lessons that transform today’s Cub Scouts into tomorrow’s Boy Scouts.

Pack 818 is a FAMILY-FRIENDLY group and we enjoy the opportunity to welcome new scouts and new families into the community.  Our main focus is to create an environment where parents can participate in fun activities with their son and help him to learn the fundamentals scouting.  We do this in a warm, welcoming community where we Do Our Best and Have Fun Doing It!

Pack 818 is a family-friendly pack.  By that we mean that we know your time as parents is valuable.  Often times, between school, sports, extra-curricular activities and work schedules, you don't have time to do everything.  We do not want Cub Scouts to be a burden to your family schedule and we try to make it very accessible for your son.

Our Pack Meetings are held once a month, typically on the first Monday (there are some exceptions based on event schedules).  Den Meetings also are generally once a month, but the specific schedule depends on how the individual Den Leaders have arranged their calendars.  If you have an interest in joining, we will put you in contact with your particular Den Leader and you can discuss their meeting times.

The annual dues for Pack 818 are $75 per Scout.  This covers your son's neckerchief & slide, handbook and awards throughout the year.  Parents are responsible for the Scout's uniform which can be picked up at the either of the Scout Shops (Mesa or Phoenix).  Additionally, you can purchase a subscription to Boy's Life magazine for $12 per year.

The Pack sponsors many events throughout the year: Pinewood Derby, Fall & Spring Campouts, Blue & Gold Banquet, etc.  These other events sometimes require a small cost (e.g. $5 to cover the cost of a derby car) or we ask for a donation to help defray the costs of the event (e.g. campouts).
